how to use The Actor's Compass

The Directory

There are plenty of places to find information out there, and we have no wish to compete with Contacts or The Knowledge. But as good as that kind of source is, it's dry information, and TAC aims to go far, far past that.

What we're building is the biggest, best directory that a London actor has ever had - because you're going to be a part of it. And best of all, it's up-to-the-minute with all the info you could ever want.

How does it work? Let's say there's a talent agent in Soho. You can find their number and address in many places, but TAC's directory is more like a living database of career assistance. The TAC staff will add in professionally-vetted info that you won't find in other places, such as: will they take new talent, and at which level will they take them? Do they only work on referral? We will also add a recommendation if it is warranted, so you know that they are worth giving a first look.

And we'll do that without publishing a book or placing ads - it's just a service to you and the actor community, we won't ever take a penny from people to list their services.

And on the other side - the more important side - is you! You and your fellow actors will be updating the database at all times. You'll be able to say if you've used a product or service, and if you found it useful or not. In short order, you and TAC are going to build a mighty, mighty weapon for actors to wield.
